A brief history at Amplified Fitness.
Tell us how you got started and your experience.

I fount out about Amplified Fitness through my great friend Janna. She got me to start initially with the boot camp in February last year but I still wasn’t super confident yet until August after having looked at several different gyms, I realized Amplified was my best option and that I needed to do something quick for my health and well-being. My greatest decsion for the year 2015!

The success and struggles you have been through at Amplified Fitness?

The struggle has honestly been just showing up and being confident in myself. I’m stronger, physically, and mentally than I want to give myself credit for.

Success is that I finally don’t hate rowing! My confidence is growing and so is my strength!

How often do you attend classes at Amplified Fitness?

4-5 times a week

Favorite movement(s)?

Bench Press however back squat is slowly becoming my other favorite!

Least favorite movement? Least favorite workout?

Least favorite movement is front squat and least favorite workout is probably Into The Fire hahaha literally feels like you are on fire but soooo good!

into the fire

Current goals?

My goals would be to get better at my front squats and jump rope oh and do a pull up before the year is over!

Anything else you want to share about yourself: what you do for fun, what you do for work?

I work at St. Marks Hospital as a heart monitor tech. For fun I love snowshoeing, hiking and watching a great movie!

-Why you keep coming back for more?

I keep coming back because I love the people. A great encouraging environment no matter your skill level oh and the workouts are awesome too:-D

*Debbie rocking her new gym swag.  Once you get in shape you have to buy lots of gym clothes and shoes.  Its the rules 😉

What do you like most about Amplified Fitness?

I could repeat what I said above but the other thing I love most about amplified that really helped me was the food program Thomas put together for me. Teaching me how to be healthy and mindful of what I put in and how to still live a normal life with aunts who like to cook amazing food! The recipes he puts together are legit!

Would rather do 300 burpees nonstop or row 10,000 meters?

Oh hands down I would row 10,000 meters before ever doing 300 burpees!

What Would You Tell Someone That Was Considering Joining Amplified Fitness?

It’s challenging but totally worth it. The strength training is amazing and the combination that Thomas uses considers all fitness levels so that your confidence and strength builds quickly!

December Member of the month.

Decembers member of the Month is Manny!  Congratulations Manny you have been spotlighted by a coach due to your exceptional work ethic and dedication.  We are lucky to have you as a member

A brief history at Amplified Fitness.
Tell us how you got started and your experience.

-On the 21st will be 9 months as a member of Amplified Fitness. I originally came in one Saturday just to try out a class. Because a certain someone kept telling me that I’d like it if I just tried it. Ended up signing up after that first class. I felt like I needed to commit to something, especially if it was to better myself.

The success and struggles you have been through at Amplified Fitness?

-A success I’ve had is how much overall stamina and strength I’ve gained. And a struggle at first I would say was my eating habits. But after the 9 week challenge it has definitely helped me notice what I put into my body now.

How often do you attend classes at Amplified Fitness?

-Besides a select few Saturdays that were closed. I’ve attended classes every day that there has been a class to go to!

Favorite movement(s)?

-I would have to say that my bench is my favorite movement. Although it’s not a very impressive bench I hope to build it up!

Least favorite movement? Least favorite workout?

-My least favorite movement would probably be the strict press. Because it’s a struggle not being able to use your legs!! Maybe I should not dsay cause knowing Thomas he’ll probably make us do it soon. But my least favorite workout would of course be 99 Problems!

Current goals?

-To pass my goal weight! Now that I’m as close as I am to my goal weight, I’m realizing that I’ve got a longer way to go..

*Photo Manny and Coach Michele.  Incredible progress!

Anything else you want to share about yourself: what you do for fun, what you do for work?

-I would have said the gym but it’s not always fun haha I also like to play basketball for fun, go to concerts. And writing music.

-Why you keep coming back for more?

-I keep coming back for more because of the progress I’ve seen since joining Amplified! Just makes me hungrier to get into the shape I’ve never been able to get to.

What do you like most about Amplified Fitness?

-The family like atmosphere that brings out a friendly competitiveness in the members that pushes us to progress and do better on a workout. I know there has been plenty of times that I’ve been trying to keep up with someone and end up beating my last score on a certain workout

What Would You Tell Someone That Was Considering Joining Amplified Fitness?

-It’s not going to be easy. But if you are looking to lose weight, build stamina, strength and self esteem. Then you should definitely go see for yourself!

November Member of the month

She’s lost 25lbs, gained muscle, improved on all her lifts and set a 16 minute PR on her half marathon time!  Member of the month is Brenda Adams!

A brief history at Amplified Fitness.

Tell us how you got started and your experience.

I had a sister-in-law talk me into buying a Groupon in Spring 2015 for Boot Camp at Amplified Fitness.  Boot Camp was changed to the Strength and Conditioning class.  During the first two weeks, I recognized the benefit becoming a member of Amplified Fitness would bring to helping me achieve my goals of becoming healthier and losing weight.  I have not been disappointed.  In the 6 months I have been a member of Amplified Fitness, I have lost over 25 lbs, become stronger, and increased my confidence.  It has also been great to watch other members improve and get closer or reach their fitness goals.

The success and struggles you have been through at Amplified Fitness.

Success – When I joined Amplified Fitness my main goal was to improve my endurance and run a faster half-marathon.  I was able to achieve that goal earlier this month and set a new PR.  I shaved over 16 minutes off my previous PR and did very little training outside of the gym.

Struggles – The only struggle I can think of is a couple of months ago I injured my leg which kept me from doing squats.  It was frustrating to not be able to do the workouts and progress, but Thomas modified the workouts for me so I still received benefits from the workouts.

How often do you attend classes at

Amplified Fitness?  Usually 5 – 6 times a week

Favorite movement(s)?

 Deadlifts and squats
brenda

Least favorite movement? Least favorite workout?

Least favorite movement – Shin hops (because I can’t do them so I “get” to do extra burpees when they are on the workout).

Current goals?

Besides losing the remaining weight I have left to lose, in 2016 I want to be able to do pull-ups and shin hops.

Anything else you want to share about yourself: what you do for fun, what you do for work?

I am a manager at Utah Higher Education in the Operational Accounting department.  For fun – I love to travel, hang out with friends and family, go to movies, hike or snowshoe depending on the season, and go to Utah football games.  Go Utes!!

-Why you keep coming back for more?

Because Thomas and Michele push me harder than I push myself.  They don’t let me give up.  I have broken through fitness barriers that I never could on my own.  Every time I tried to lose weight in the past, I would hit a plateau I could not overcome and I would give up.  In the 6 months I have been training at Amplified Fitness, I have broken through that plateau and I know I will continue to progress.

What do you like most about Amplified Fitness?

I think most people say this, but it is so true –  the people at this gym are amazing!  I know when I can come to the gym I will not only get in a great workout but have a great time doing it.  It is such a positive atmosphere.  Not only do Thomas and Michele encourage you during the workouts but the other members cheer you on as well, which makes me want to push myself even harder.

What Would you tell someone who is thinking about joining Amplified Fitness?

It is the best investment you can make in yourself.  The training program is set up for success if you apply yourself.  Don’t let fear of the unknown be the barrier that keeps you from becoming your best self.  The trainers and other members make it a fun and positive environment that makes you want to dig deeper and push yourself harder.

This is a tough one for most of you. Life, work and family are hectic and time consuming, so the concept of eating a healthy, simply prepared dinner seems completely out of reach.

The truth is that we over complicate the idea of a healthy dinner. I suspect this is because we are so used to eating out at restaurants where entrees are accompanied by sides, sauces and garnishes.

Here are 7 truly healthy dinners that are quick and simple to make. These are some of my favorites that I have hand picked. I chose these based on simplicity to make, prepare, taste and family friendly

A brief history at Amplified Fitness.

Tell us how you got started and your experience.

I reached out to Thomas March of 2012 and was looking for a lifestyle change. I wanted more consistency in my workout routine and become more educated on nutrition. I started with Thomas doing 1 on 1 training for I believe 18 months and was hooked after only a few weeks. I was shocked at how fast I was progressing not in just terms of weight loss but in strength.

The success and struggles you have been through at Amplified Fitness.

Success to me is that I’m still showing up every day and continuing to set new personal records. Over the past few weeks I’ve set over 7 new PR’s which to me is a huge accomplishment even after 3 years. My struggles have been consistency in my diet. I do eat a lot healthier overall but it’s something I need to improve.

How often do you attend sessions at Amplified Fitness?

4-5 days a week!

Favorite movement(s)?

Squats, Box Jumps, Overhead Press & Squat Cleans

Least favorite movement?

Sled Drags

Current goals?

400 pound Squat, 250 pound Squat Clean

Anything else you want to share about yourself: what you do for fun, what you do for work?

I love what I do for work so that is not only “what I like to do for fun” but also what I do for work. I’m a Real Estate Expert Advisor and I run a team of sales professionals and help buyers and sellers in the wonderful work of real estate.

-Why you keep coming back for more?

Setting new records, becoming stronger, faster and leaner!

What do you like most about Amplified Fitness?

The people. There are closer gyms to my house but the team synergy is special at Amplified. The friends I’ve made at the gym hold me accountable to be there every day.

What Would You Tell Someone That Was Considering Joining Amplified Fitness?

Not only do i feel great but I attribute a lot of my business success on the way I feel. I love to go in to the gym every morning, hit it hard and I ride a high that gets me through my day and I feel unstoppable. I frequently think of something that Thomas told me a couple years back when I’m in the middle of an intense workout. “Your mind will quit before your body will”.
Do this for a lifestyle change and get some accountability. Find out what YOUR body is really capable of doing and what YOU are capable of feeling like again.

Septembers member(s) of the month is Ken Klingler and Kris Bowen

This month we’ve have two members spotlights!  Congratulations Ken and Kris.  Your exceptional work has stood out and we thank you for being valued members.

Ken and Kris

You can read Ken’s story below.  We will hear from Kris when he is back from vacation.

Tell us how you got started and your experience.

I met Thomas and could tell he knew what he was talking about. So I decided to give the gym a try in December 2013.

The success and struggles you have been through at Amplified Fitness.

One of my personal successes was when I out lifted my high school personal records on the power lifting movements.  I never thought I would get back up to those numbers.

Another is how I look in the mirror.  I think I weigh about the same as I did when I started, but you wouldn’t guess it from my before and after pictures.

The toughest thing for me has been when I hurt my knee running.  Rehabilitation in my 40’s doesn’t go as quickly as it did when I was in my 20’s.

How often do you attend sessions at Amplified Fitness?

I try to get to the gym 5 days a week, but I end up averaging closer to 4 days a week.

Favorite movement(s)?

My favorite movement is the Bench Press.  It is by far my most powerful.  However, I am really starting to like the squat now that my knee is just about back to 100%.

Least favorite movement?

Running (in fact, it is my three least favorite movements)

Current goals?

I want to get my back squat up to 300lbs.  I am only at 235 after hurting my knee, so I have a ways to go still.

Anything else you want to share about yourself: what you do for fun, what you do for work?

I spend almost all of my time either at work (I am a CPA) at the gym, or with my family.  My wife Heather is also a member of Amplified Fitness.  We really enjoy going camping and going on vacations together.

-Why you keep coming back for more?

Sense of family in the AM class and the motivation from the coaches.

What do you like most about Amplified Fitness?

 The people.

What Would You Tell Someone That Was Considering Joining Amplified Fitness?

You need this.  You don’t know it yet, but you need this.  After a few months of treating your body right, you will feel so much better and you will start to see results in the mirror.
